1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the RAIN 2025 Scholarship Program offered by Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Nigeria (RAIN), a company incorporated under the laws of Nigeria with RC Number RC1607482.
Purpose of Scholarship
The RAIN Scholarship Program is designed to advance workforce development in emerging technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) across Nigeria and West Africa, specifically in robotics, automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
By applying for or accepting the RAIN Scholarship, you ("Applicant" or "Scholar") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety.
2. Definitions
- "RAIN" refers to Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Nigeria, RC Number RC1607482
- "Scholarship" refers to the partial tuition coverage and benefits provided under this program
- "Scholar" refers to a successful scholarship recipient
- "RDA Program" refers to the Robot Development and Automation curriculum
- "AIML Program" refers to the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning curriculum
- "Combined Program" refers to the integrated 24-month program covering both RDA and AIML
- "Training Period" refers to the duration of the selected program (12 or 24 months)
3. Eligibility Requirements
3.1 Academic Qualifications
- Recent graduates with degrees in Engineering, Computer Science, Computing, Mathematics, or Physical Sciences
- Preferably First-class degree holders with excellent references from university lecturers
- Special consideration may be given to passionate individuals without university degrees who demonstrate exceptional aptitude
3.2 Technical Requirements
- Demonstrable knowledge of programming languages (Python, C++, or C preferred)
- Genuine passion for robotics, automation, and/or artificial intelligence
- Ability to provide own laptop meeting minimum specifications (16GB RAM, Core i7 recommended)
3.3 Legal Requirements
- Must be legally permitted to study in Nigeria
- Open to qualified candidates globally
- Must be able to relocate to Ibadan, Nigeria for the training period

4. Scholarship Benefits
4.1 Covered Benefits
- Partial Tuition Coverage: Up to ₦7,700,000 value
- Starter Kit: Essential tools and materials for program
- Comprehensive Training: 12 months (RDA/AIML) or 24 months (Combined)
- Certification: Professional Certificate upon completion
- Mentorship: Access to RAIN faculty and industry experts
4.2 Scholar's Financial Obligations
Tuition Fee Responsibility
Scholars are committed to paying their own percentage of the tuition fee as determined by RAIN. Payment must be made in due time according to the payment schedule provided upon scholarship acceptance.
4.3 What Is NOT Covered
- Monthly stipend or allowance
- Accommodation
- Feeding and subsistence
- Personal safety and security
- Laptop or personal computing equipment
- Transportation costs
- Personal expenses
- Full tuition (scholarship covers partial tuition only)
5. Student Obligations
5.1 Personal Responsibility
Living Arrangements and Personal Care
Scholars are solely responsible for:
- Accommodation: Securing and maintaining suitable housing in Ibadan, Nigeria
- Feeding: All meals and nutritional needs throughout the program duration
- Personal Safety: Ensuring their own security and well-being
- Subsistence: All living expenses and daily necessities
- Healthcare: Medical insurance and healthcare needs
5.2 Equipment Requirements
- Provide and maintain a laptop meeting minimum specifications (16GB RAM, Core i7 processor recommended)
- Ensure reliable internet connectivity
- Arrange suitable accommodation in Ibadan, Nigeria
5.3 Attendance and Participation
- Maintain minimum 90% attendance rate
- Actively participate in all scheduled classes, workshops, and projects
- Complete all assignments and assessments within specified deadlines
- Participate in individual and group projects as assigned
5.4 Conduct Requirements
- Maintain professional conduct at all times
- Respect intellectual property rights
- Follow RAIN's code of conduct and institutional policies
- Represent RAIN positively in all public interactions
5.5 Communication Obligations
- Maintain regular communication with RAIN administration
- Report any issues or challenges promptly
- Participate in periodic progress reviews
5.6 Status Clarification
Important Notice
Scholarship beneficiaries are NOT members of staff of RAIN and cannot act on behalf of RAIN in any official capacity. Scholars have no authority to represent RAIN in business dealings, partnerships, or any external engagements.
6. Academic Requirements
6.1 Performance Standards
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by RAIN
- Achieve minimum passing grades in all modules
- Complete capstone/final projects to required standards
- Demonstrate practical application of learned skills
6.2 Assessment Methods
- Continuous assessment through assignments and projects
- Practical demonstrations and presentations
- Peer review and collaboration evaluation
- Final project evaluation and certification
Completion Certificate
Upon successful completion of all requirements, scholars will receive a professional certificate from RAIN, globally accepted for their expertise in robotics, automation, AI, and machine learning.
7. Termination of Scholarship
7.1 RAIN's Right to Withdraw or Terminate
Scholarship Withdrawal
RAIN reserves the absolute right to withdraw the scholarship offer at any time and terminate studentship for any of the following reasons:
- Academic underperformance or failure to meet program requirements
- Attendance below 90% without valid justification
- Any form of indiscipline or misconduct
- Lack of commitment or dedication to the program
- Violation of RAIN's code of conduct
- Provision of false information in application
- Failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions
- Failure to pay tuition fee obligations in due time
- Acting on behalf of RAIN without authorization
7.2 Voluntary Withdrawal
- Scholars may withdraw voluntarily with 30 days written notice
- No refund of utilized scholarship benefits
- Return of any RAIN property including starter kit materials
7.3 Consequences of Termination
- Immediate cessation of all scholarship benefits
- No certification or completion recognition
- Potential liability for scholarship amounts utilized (in cases of misconduct)
- Return of all RAIN materials and resources
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 RAIN's Intellectual Property
- All course materials, curriculum, and training content remain RAIN's property
- Scholars may not reproduce, distribute, or commercialize RAIN's materials
- Non-disclosure of proprietary methodologies and trade secrets
8.2 Intellectual Property Created During Program
IP Ownership
RAIN owns all intellectual property produced using or in conjunction with the RAIN facility, including but not limited to:
- Projects developed using RAIN equipment or resources
- Research conducted within RAIN premises
- Work created during training sessions
- Collaborative projects with RAIN involvement
- Any derivative works based on RAIN's curriculum or methodologies
Unless otherwise expressly stated in writing by RAIN's authorized representatives.
8.3 Third-Party Content
- Respect for third-party intellectual property rights
- Proper attribution and fair use principles
- No infringement of copyrights, patents, or trademarks
9. Privacy and Data Protection
9.1 Data Collection
RAIN collects and processes personal data including:
- Application materials and academic records
- Performance and progress data
- Contact and identification information
9.2 Data Usage
- Program administration and academic management
- Progress monitoring and assessment
- Communication and support services
- Alumni relations and career support
- Marketing and promotional activities (with consent)
9.3 Data Protection
- Secure storage and handling of personal information
- Limited access to authorized personnel only
- Compliance with applicable Nigerian data protection laws
- No sale or unauthorized sharing of personal data
10. Limitations and Disclaimers
10.1 Program Limitations
- Employment Placement: RAIN does not guarantee employment placement upon completion. However, RAIN will seek all possible ways to support career development and job placement opportunities for graduates.
- Technology and curriculum may change during the program
- Program capacity may limit scholarship availability
- External factors may affect program delivery (force majeure)
10.2 Liability Limitations
- RAIN's liability is limited to the scholarship value provided
- No responsibility for personal property damage or loss
- No liability for third-party actions or services
- Scholars participate at their own risk
10.3 Force Majeure
RAIN shall not be liable for delays or failures in performance due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government actions, or global pandemics.
11. Governing Law
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
- Disputes shall be resolved through Nigerian courts
- Alternative dispute resolution may be pursued before litigation
- English language version of these Terms shall prevail in case of translation discrepancies
12. Amendments
- RAIN reserves the right to modify these Terms with reasonable notice
- Material changes will be communicated to current scholars
- Continued participation constitutes acceptance of modified Terms
- Scholars may withdraw if they disagree with significant changes
Acknowledgment
By applying for the RAIN Scholarship, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety.
